Second ad I helped out on at Studiolocal
I helped out with set dressing sculpting some of the rocks and the mountain. Modelling props as well as optimizations to Geo.
There was a lot of optimization work needed for this ad. The trees were assets we bought online which were really dense and because we are seeing them from a distance there were a lot of excessive poly’s that we didn’t need.
For the sand we put extra geometry only in the areas we needed. Mainly where we write down the S.O.S message as well as creating a procedural sand texture inside of Maya using mix of Fractal and Noise nodes.
